Understanding 3D VSP Imaging

To understand the challenges of 3D VSP imaging in complex geological settings we use the SEG Advanced Modeling (SEAM) Phase I Velocity model for 3D synthetic data generation and imaging.

The SEAM model simulates a typical subsalt environment in the Gulf of Mexico; the model includes complex salt, grottoes, salt welds, subseismic resolution stratigraphic details, and an overturned set of sediments.
