Every great legacy has an eye on tomorrow
We are SLB, a global technology company driving energy innovation for a balanced planet.
The adoption of the new brand name SLB manifests the company’s mission to decarbonize the oil and gas industry while developing alternative energy businesses. SLB’s stated goal, first formulated in 2021, is to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
In the early 2020s, the company introduces a range of oilfield products and services in support of this goal. Performance Live digitally connected service for remote wellsite operations control and cloud-based Neuro Autonomous Solutions for autonomous drilling operations improve safety efficiency, and carbon footprint. Using IoT (Internet of Things) enabled sensors, a new, self-installed continuous methane monitoring system detects, locates, and quantifies emissions across oil and gas operations.
In 2020, SLB’s New Energy business launches with great momentum. The company starts Celsius Energy that uses geothermal energy technology for heating and cooling buildings, and it co-founds Genvia, a clean hydrogen production technology venture.
SLB enters strategic collaborations with the following partners:
The company deepens its collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate the development and deployment of industry-specific generative AI foundation models across SLB’s global platforms, including its Delfi digital platform and Lumi data and AI platform.
SLB makes new strides in promoting diversity in the company: In 2021, it commits to the Valuable 500, the largest network of global CEOs committed to innovating together for disability inclusion, and by the end of 2023, nearly one out of four (24.6%) employees is female.
