Eclipse Gas Lift Optimization

Determine how much lift gas to allocate to each well in order to meet production targets

minus

The gas lift optimization facility finds the best way to allocate lift gas, ensuring that production targets are met in the most efficient way possible.

If production targets cannot be met, it determines how to make best use of the existing lift gas resources by allocating it preferentially to the wells that can make the best use of it.

The Eclipse simulator enables users to easily simulate any field development strategy and can allow extensibility for coupling to external simulators.

Gas lift optimization

Every well (or group of wells) in the Eclipse simulation can have production / injection rates and pressure targets. In addition, dedicated models support gas field operations, gas lift optimization, surface networks and reservoir coupling.

Eclipse gas lift optimization can be used to tackle the following problems:

  • Optimizing gas lift to individual wells (How much lift gas does each well need in order to achieve its individual production target?).
  • Optimizing gas lift within a group of wells (How much lift gas does the group of wells need to achieve its production target?).
  • Dealing with insufficient lift gas (How should it be distributed amongst the individual wells?).
  • Optimizing gas lift within a simple network (How does the lift gas allocation need to be moderated to account for pressure losses in the flowline?).
