SUREWET

RHELIANT system invert-emulsion system surfactant

Schlumberger Oilfield Services
minus

SUREWET™ RHELIANT™ system invert-emulsion system surfactant is a secondary wetting agent and emulsifier used with the RheGuard™ flat rheology drilling fluid system in conjunction with the RheMul™ flat rheology system emulsifier and with the RHADIANT™ oil-based ultrahigh-temperature drilling fluid system in conjunction with the MUL XT™ high-temperature emulsifier.

The SUREWET system surfactant preferentially wets barite and drilled solids to prevent the water-wetting of solids. It also improves thermal, rheological, and emulsion stability; filtration control; and resistance to contamination.

Functions as a supplementary wetting agent and emulsifier in the RheGuard and RHADIANT systems

  • Improves wetting of solids in the system
  • Tightens the emulsion
  • Increases thermal stability
  • Decreases fluid loss
  • Reduces risk of water in filtrate

Toxicity and handling

Bioassay information is available upon request. Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions as described in the Safety Data Sheet.

Packaging and storage

SUREWET system surfactant is packaged in 55-galUS [208-L] steel drums and 550-galUS [2,131-L] totes. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area where temperatures are greater than 60 degF [15.6 deg C]. Keep container closed and separate from heat, sparks, and flames. Store away from incompatible materials.
