Integration for enhanced downhole fluid control

The top-latch choke of Peak Family™ flow control and well intervention tools is designed to be installed within a SIMstandard™ or SIMplus™ retrievable bridge plug, creating a downhole choke that enables the plug to choke back well fluids as desired.

Efficient choke management

SIM™ sealing integrity management system plugs have a unique feature in which the top-latch choke can be deployed and recovered to the surface without recovering the plug body. This means the choke can be recovered and resized to meet flow requirements without the added runs required to pull and reset a plug—reducing additional interventions, operating time, and plug redress costs.

  • Enhances oil or gas crossflow between two or more sandstones to improve overall reservoir performance
  • Facilitates flow from a gas reservoir below an existing oil reservoir to provide natural gas lift
  • Enables fluid flow from differing reservoirs to achieve a controlled fluid mix from the well, balancing dilutions between high and low CO2 gas content
  • Regulates fluid flow during injection operations to manage CO2 injection pressure
  • Choke can be recovered and reset without the need to pull the plug body
  • Tool is run and recovered with standard pulling tools
  • Integral equalizing ensures no chance of the tool being blown uphole should the orifice become blocked
  • Tungsten carbide orifice disc is easily replaced
