Petromod 2024.1 release announcement
→ Numerous usability improvements to Petromod™ basin modeling software
→ The first version for multiple scenario analysis has been implemented. Users can now simulate several versions of a model varying one parameter at a time
→ New features and enhancements related to carbon storage workflows
→ Open Simulator can now be used as a stand-alone Python module without using Petromod software!
→ A whole host of refinements to IP Express
Advection modeling of the CO2 dissolved in water. Understand and predict the transport and distribution of CO2. This is the first commercial release in Petromod software of this workflow. (Data Courtesy of Geoscience Australia)
Precipitation of CO2 in carbonates. Including precipitation of CO2 in carbonates in CO2 storage modeling enhances our understanding of natural carbon sequestration processes. This is the first commercial release in Petromod software including this workflow. - (Data Courtesy of NPD)
Petromod 2023.1 release announcement
PetroMod 2023 combines a state-of-the-art user interface with high simulation performance enabling you to perform sophisticated analyses of the dynamic temperature, pressure, and migration history of complex geological systems in a fast, and intuitive process-focused workflow.
Key features and enhancements
This new tool has been created based on the IP Tester. In IP Express, the invasion percolation algorithm has been decoupled from the pressure/temperature (P/T) simulator to be run within 3D seismic volumes of up to 2 billion cells size. This application was primarily created for carbon storage site assessment but can be also used for hydrocarbon migration testing. The tool has been designed to be used with minimum data requirements, i.e., one seismic cube, but additional seismic cubes can be included in the simulation if available. You need a 3D advanced migration license to run IP Express.
To expand the simulator capabilities, of modelling CO2 storage in saline aquifers, the existing diffusion equation has been extended to include advection.
Petromod 2022.1 release announcement
PetroMod 2022.1 combines a state-of-the-art user interface with high-simulation performance that enables you to perform sophisticated analyses of the dynamic temperature, pressure, and migration history of complex geological systems in a fast and intuitive, process-focused workflow. The unification of the 2D and 3D model builder and viewer capabilities allow a fast switch between 2D and 3D model setup and analyses, saving time and costs.
Petromod 2021.1 release announcement
PetroMod 2021.1 combines a state-of-the-art user interface with high-simulation performance that enables you to perform sophisticated analyses of the dynamic temperature, pressure, and migration history of complex geological systems in a fast and intuitive, process-focused workflow. The unification of the 2D and 3D model builder and viewer capabilities allow a fast switch between 2D and 3D model setup and analyses, saving you time and costs.
