FacsRite

Premium mesh disc screen

minus

FacsRite™ premium mesh disc screens feature flush-mounted discs that are secured into the basepipe, enabling the open flow area (OFA) to be economically tailored to your well’s productivity or injectivity requirements. This cost-effective geometry provides significantly more torsion, compression, and collapse strength compared with slotted liner. These advantages are crucial for horizontal wells, especially steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) and underpressured wells with excessive wellbore stresses.

Because FacsRite screens retain significant strength up to a maximum OFA of 23%, they provide an alternative to wire-wrapped and prepacked screens for gravel-pack, frac-pack, and stand-alone applications. These robust screens are the only type of screen that can be handled like casing and feasibly drilled into place. These characteristics help reduce completion costs.

Custom-engineered screen manufacturing equipment ensures precise tolerances and quality control for any well, anywhere in the world. Appropriate screen selection, which depends on a variety of factors, is a critical step in the well completion process. Our technical experts can help with this selection to enhance your well's performance.

  • Alternative to slotted liner or wire-wrapped screen
  • Remedial screens
  • SAGD wells
  • Steam, gas, or water injector wells
  • Coalbed methane wells
  • Underpressured or depleted wells
  • Highly corrosive environments
  • Variable open flow area (0%–23%) to match well productivity
  • Premium sintered mesh medium with pore sizes ranging from 60 to 400 um
  • Corrosion-resistant metal mesh—316L stainless steel, INCONEL®, or HASTELLOY®
  • Excellent tensile, compressive, torsional, and collapse strength
  • Ability to withstand rotation, reciprocation, and circulation through difficult hole conditions
  • Excellent sand retention capability
  • Robust construction that withstands being treated like casing, including drilling into place

What other advantages do the FacsRite screen discs provide?

Standard FacsRite screen discs have 1-in diameter and are made of 316L stainless steel fusion-bonded mesh laminates that provide erosion and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. For extremely corrosive environments, such as H2S, raw seawater injection, or fireflood, exotic metals or superalloys such as INCONEL and HASTELLOY are available. Because the discs can be arranged in almost any pattern on the basepipe, FacsRite screens can accommodate instrumentation, flow control lines, shunt tubes, and even catalysts for toe-to-heel air injection. Absence of extra material on the outside of the basepipe enables maximizing screen OD and ID, which reduces velocities and pressure drops and increases well productivity.
