From optimizing basic acquisition parameters to imaging through complex overburden
Our approach to modeling evaluates and optimizes the basic acquisition parameters, integrating advanced technology for application to more complicated challenges. By using illumination studies, we can optimize acquisition geometry where structures and overburden would obscure imaging with conventional approaches. To ensure that our solutions are a perfect fit, we apply synthetic seismic generation and processing in evaluating the power of high-end acquisition and processing templates to image through complex overburden and resolve subtle geological features.
With our azimuth, broadband, and multicomponent acquisition solutions, you can meet your objectives and protect your seismic investment. Our survey design service for land, marine, ocean bottom cable, node, transition zone, 3D vertical seismic profiling (VSP), and electromagnetic acquisition streamlines your operations in terms of time, efficiency, and cost—while reducing risk.
We perform 4D seismic feasibility studies for evaluating drilling challenges, planning field seismic experiments to evaluate acquisition and processing parameters, and determining the value of information studies to help quantify risk. The primary objective of 4D feasibility studies is to synthesize seismic amplitude responses to variations in reservoir conditions. From this, we can determine the type of 4D signal generated by change in the rocks and fluids, whether that signal will be detectable above the noise, and the most realistic 4D response. The synthesis can be based on either a zero-dimensional rock physics model or 3D reservoir simulator predictions of reservoir conditions. The first step is to build a rock physics model of the reservoir and then investigate the uncertainty of the model to variations in reservoir parameters such as saturation and pressure.
To support these activities, we also provide processing software and associated training courses in survey design (land and marine) and acquisition techniques as well as a broad portfolio of survey design modeling solutions, including
