Understand the fluid contents to understand your reservoir

Determining how fluid behaves in the reservoir requires collecting data at reservoir conditions. Our broad range of industry-leading products and services makes it possible to efficiently accomplish downhole pressure measurement and representative fluid analysis and sampling in what are challenging environments for conventional technology: low-permeability or unconsolidated formations, heavy oil, and rugose boreholes.

What does reservoir fluid geodynamics mean for oil and gas?

Initiated and led by SLB Fellow Dr. Oliver C. Mullins, the oil and gas industry has introduced a new technical discipline called reservoir fluid geodynamics (RFG) to enhance the understanding and management of reservoir fluids over geologic time. RFG offers a comprehensive approach similar to "structural geology" for rocks, focusing on how fluids and rock structures evolve together. This new discipline helps operators address uncertainties in reserve estimates, productivity, and reservoir connectivity, and the Ora platform is a key enabler. Learn from Dr. Oliver Mullins how RFG is becoming an essential tool in reservoir management and development.

Without formation testing to acquire pressure and fluid measurements and samples, you cannot fully characterize your reservoir and maximize production.

Contextual formation insights with lower carbon intensity

Performed using the Ora™ intelligent wireline formation testing platform, deep transient testing (DTT) increases the radius of investigation to provide a greater understanding of reservoir fluids. Determine hydrocarbons in place, zonal deliverability, and commercial viability with zero flaring.
