Reliably run flow control devices on slickline

The patented SIM™ running tool enables the accurate placement and setting of various SIM sealing integrity management system downhole components, such as packers, plugs, and flow control devices, at the desired depth inside monobore completions.

This innovative mechanical intervention tool eliminates the need for batteries, explosives, or compressed gas, enabling reliable deployment of flow control devices on basic slickline without the need for special procedures or additional equipment. The SIM running tool not only improves operational efficiency, it mitigates HSE risks, reduces downtime, and lowers operational costs—for faster, more cost-effective well interventions.

Tailored deployment, consistent results

SLB tailors the slickline-conveyed SIM running tool to the specific device you need to deploy. The tool features a radial indexing mechanism that activates a set of slips, anchoring the running tool to the tubing wall at your desired setting depth. Setting the device is straightforward: Simply jar downward to set it in place. An overpull confirms the component is fully set. Once the component is securely in place, upward jarring releases the SIM running tool for retrieval.
