Install, isolate, and recover—all on slickline

Part of the SIM™ sealing integrity management system, the SIM straddle isolates problem zones, such as water influx, unwanted gas flow, tubing holes, or leaking devices, to mitigate potential issues without the need for extensive workovers. It can also be deployed prior to setting a permanent patch in the well, allowing you to confirm patch setting.

Rated to 5,000 psi and 350 degF, the SIM straddle is designed for reliable performance in some of the industry’s most demanding conditions. Optional integration with the Peak Family™ integral gas-lift valve straddle further extends its performance, making it an invaluable tool for slickline well intervention.

The SIM straddle is fully deployed and retrieved on slickline—streamlining operations, reducing downtime, and mitigating operational risk.

SIM Straddle System
Effective, reliable isolation across the straddled zone
  • Isolating water zones, unwanted gas flow, a hole in tubing, or a leaking device within the tubing
  • Determining the effect of setting a permanent patch in the well
  • Stackable straddle tubes in 5-, 7 ½-, and 10-ft lengths with a selective release mechanism
  • Damage-preventing slips ensure even distribution of stresses exerted on the tubing
  • 5,000-psi pressure rating
  • 350-degF temperature rating
  • Optional integration with the Peak Family integral gas-lift valve straddle

The SIM straddle consists of stackable straddle tubes deployed on slickline between an upper and lower SIMstandard™ retrievable bridge plug or SIMplus™ retrievable bridge plug to provide isolation across the straddled zone. The SIM straddle system has a unique selective latch mechanism on each straddle connector, which allows the tubes to be recovered one at a time during straddle retrieval. This unique feature can be critical for safety purposes when trying to recover the straddle section back into the lubricator.
