As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to developing local content, Schlumberger has signed a memorandum of understanding with Milaha, a Qatar based maritime and logistics organization to establish a joint stimulation vessel operation in the State of Qatar. The collaboration aligns with Qatar Petroleum’s in-country value (ICV) program, known as Tawteen, through leveraging local infrastructure capabilities and training for local personnel while supporting Qatar Petroleum’s 2025 liquified natural gas production growth targets.
Schlumberger is committed to enabling operational performance and efficiency thru localization of supply chain by bringing best in class technology and knowhow to the Qatari oil and gas sector,
said Amit Singh, Qatar Managing Director at Schlumberger. The company is proud of its partnership with Milaha and looks forward to contributing to the ICV program through this innovative business partnership model that aims to increase local participation moving forward.
Since the launch of Qatar Petroleum’s In-Country Value program in February 2019, Schlumberger has demonstrated its commitment to investment in local content by collaborating with in-country suppliers in oilfield grade cement and equipment manufacturing as well as through educational learning and development initiatives with operators and local universities. Through this new ICV initiative, Schlumberger continues to contribute further with more opportunities for Qatar Petroleum’s local supplier development program.
