The Middle East and Asia Learning Center provides advanced training for Schlumberger employees from around the world as well as for energy industry professionals, offering trainees hands-on experience using state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, including a custom-built training rig.

“We maximize the learning experience and build a solid foundation by utilizing several delivery methods,” says Mouamba. “This includes classroom and online courses, self-training, on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring. Our courses are led by experienced instructors from all over the world and across many disciplines.”

Theoretical learning is reinforced with practical training with simulated wellsite setups where trainees learn and perform operations from the exploration to the production cycle.

“The center also provides the trainees with learning tools such as wells of various depths, practical workshops, augmented and virtual reality courses, virtual trainings, and simulators to facilitate real-life operational experiences as well as the opportunity to discover and apply troubleshooting techniques in a safe and controlled environment,” notes Mouamba.
