PARAMARIBO, Suriname February 26, 2025 — Global technology company SLB today opened its new office in Paramaribo, Suriname in the presence of senior representatives from Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname, including Director Downstream & Power of Staatsolie, Mr. Eddy Fränkel. Operating for more than 60 years in Suriname, this new office further strengthens SLB’s local presence and commitment to in-country value. SLB is focused on pioneering technology and digital innovations to unlock Suriname's full energy potential while aligning its local strategy with the country’s growing energy landscape and sustainable aspirations.

Seegoolam, Managing Director for SLB in Guyana, Trinidad and the Caribbean. “This new office will enable us to drive customer performance, create opportunities for local talent, and embed sustainability in all our operations. CEO of Staatsolie, Mr. Annand Jagesar shared brief comments about SLB’s presence and our operations in country. “We have worked together with SLB for many years and are excited to have such a player present in Suriname for so long and now seeing opportunities to open a new office in the country,” he said. “The offshore of Suriname holds great promise and the presence of companies such as SLB is essential to develop any opportunity. SLB sees significant opportunities to further strengthen its service offerings and advance in-country value in Suriname’s quickly developing industry. SLB is also advancing Suriname’s energy sector through local workforce development, sustainability, and community engagement. In 2023, the company participated in the logging of three water wells in country to support clean water provision. SLB’s resume writing and introduction to oil and gas programs have supported recruiting, training and partnership initiatives, benefiting more than 500 Surinamese students from the Polytechnic College and the Anton De Kom University.
