The Wellbarrier solution enables efficient design, collaboration, and creation of well barrier schematics, making critical information accessible to all stakeholders and team members. By centralizing data, the Wellbarrier solution eliminates the risks associated with fragmented information being spread across different systems, offering significant time savings, consistency, and collaborative benefits. For instance, Equinor has successfully created over 15,000 schematics using Wellbarrier, saving more than 45,000 engineering hours.
Harnessing the power of automation and integration, the Wellbarrier solution minimizes unnecessary manual work, connecting and enriching data to ensure well integrity is maintained throughout the entire lifecycle. One standout feature of the Wellbarrier solution is its ability to automate the generation of illustrations and schematics. Through its API, users can set up an orchestration process that enables semi or fully-automated data ingestion. With just a few clicks, engineers can generate illustrations and barrier schematics, significantly reducing the time and effort required while improving quality and safety.
The Wellbarrier solution also offers semi and fully-automated illustration and schematics generation through integration with applications like DrillPlan™ coherent well planning and engineering solutions. In this process well data is automatically transferred to the Wellbarrier solution, and barrier schematics are generated before being fed back into DrillPlan solutions, to enhance future planning. Although this process is considered fully automated, it still requires human review to ensure the results are appropriate and accurate. This is particularly effective during the drilling phase, where the primary barrier is typically the overbalance fluid, making the schematics relatively straightforward.

The system provides an initial version of each well setup, which drastically reduces the time and effort required to configure wells. By integrating actual data from source systems, these templates can then be automatically updated to match specific well characteristics, providing a partially automated setup with room for customization as needed.
