Production ExPRESS™ rapid production response solutions delivered end-to-end stimulation and proppant flowback services, increasing multizone well production by 3,000 bbl/d. The Integrated solutions managed flow rates of 4,500 bbl/d and recovered approximately 13,500 kg of solids while reducing emissions by 6,700 metric tons of CO2e.

A North Sea operator launched a multizone frac flowback campaign to increase its facility production rate. Routing flow to the production facility and meeting the plant’s stringent acceptance criteria required a coiled tubing wellbore cleanout as well as fluid preconditioning to remove proppant and other solids from the well effluent.

To maximize operational efficiency and uptime, the operator needed to integrate frac flowback services with its existing simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), which included drilling, completions, and intervention services. With a limited footprint on the platform and no prior operation of this magnitude, the operator turned to SLB for the meticulous planning, safety management, and real-time coordination required for this campaign.

SLB deployed Production ExPRESS solutions for integrated stimulation, wellbore cleanout, and fluid preconditioning. The fit‑for‑purpose SIMOPS solution leveraged domain expertise, existing assets, and a customized, zero-flaring solids handling system to remove proppant from the produced fluids upstream of the facility.

The system, which included a cyclonic desander with heat tracing, two dual-pot sand filters, Vx Spectra™ surface multiphase flowmeter, and double-block choke manifold, captured accurate flow rate measurements and filtered 13,500 kg of solids without the need for separation or flaring. SLB employed a data acquisition system, digital sand system, and Concert™ well testing live performance system to ensure the simultaneous complex operations were executed as efficiently as possible.

Production ExPRESS solutions successfully delivered maximum oil and gas flow rates of up to 4,500 bbl/d and 1.5 MMcf/d, respectively, bringing 3,000 bbl/d of incremental production to the facility with no HSE incidents. The entire operation was executed with zero flaring, preventing approximately 6,700 metric tons of CO2e that would have been generated with a conventional frac flowback solution.
