Gassy, abrasive, and high-temperature formations, combined with steep flow declines, changes in flow rates, varying stresses, and solids production often result in mechanical failures and the need for costly pump replacements. The REDA Continuum unconventional extended-life ESP provides greater efficiency and durability in a wider operating range than conventional pumps. During field trials, a Rocky Mountain operator installed a REDA Continuum ESP on a well where anticipated natural flow was 4,000 bbl/d. The pump increased production to 5,500 bbl/d and was still operating after eight months.
