Traditional production logging tools have long been predicated on wells being essentially vertical. So as horizontal and highly deviated wells proliferated, the inventory of tools, while able to get the job done, were less than optimal. This article looks at Schlumberger's attempts to provide operators with more accurate information on what is going on in their highly deviated, producing wells.
