In 2013, Schlumberger opened a reservoir characterization laboratory in Brisbane to address the needs of Australia’s oil and gas industry through comprehensive rock analytical services. The facility, part of a global network of twenty-five Schlumberger Reservoir Laboratories (SRL), provides field and laboratory analytical services for offshore and onshore operations, including rapidly growing shale and coal seam gas activities. The reservoir laboratory leverages location, high-tech equipment, industry-recognized experts, over 30 years of geomechanics testing experience and wellsite capabilities to deliver tailored solutions to operators in Australia and throughout the entire Asia Pacific region. Examples demonstrate how a locally based, single-provider approach ensures the timely delivery of reservoir characterization information critical for reducing project risk, simplifying operations and improving field productivity.
