The idea of becoming more efficient is in the scope of every industry. Whether we think about the history of chips, computers, cell phones, or medical devices, all of them have successfully developed technologies that can do more as they become smaller. This is not the exception for the oil and gas industry, as demonstrated by this artificial lift development of ultrahigh-speed (UHS) electrical submersible pumps (ESPs). This paper covers the challenges, advantages, and the deployment process of this technology in a field in Ecuador. The obtained advantages such as reduction in field assembly time, improved capability to deploy in more aggressive deviated wells, adaptable logistics, and finally successful flow handling. Based on this experience, new candidate wells are currently being studied for this application.
