SLB is among the shortlisted companies in the Transparency Award category at the World 50 2024 Inclusion and Diversity Impact Awards.
The Transparency Award category recognizes organizations that have publicly declared their position and openly shared their intentions and targets for improvement in aspects of diversity and inclusion.
“We are honored to be shortlisted in this category. In 2022, we published our Women and Pay: Driving Gender Balance Through Data, Transparency, and Action report. In 2023, we updated the headline numbers to underline our commitment to furthering gender balance progress,” says Carlos Sarmiento, Director, Diversity and Inclusion, SLB. “Establishing global standards for the data we share and having it externally audited helps us to identify areas of focus and accelerate progress on our journey to achieving better gender balance and representation at all levels of the company,” he notes.
The report underscores the company’s transparency commitment and gender balance improvement targets, demonstrating its aim to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 10, which represent gender equality and reduced inequalities, respectively.
“With our commitment to support women and pay equity, the report provides a reference point as we continue to monitor our progress, evolve the report, and identify key focus areas to accelerate further progress towards gender balance and improve the representation of women throughout the company,” says Stephanie Reed, Director, Total Rewards, SLB.
The average percentage of women working in the energy industry has only marginally increased over the last few years. SLB is on track to achieve its gender balance milestones of 25% women in salaried positions by 2025, and 30% by 2030. At year-end 2023, women represented 24.6% of the SLB salaried workforce and 30% of its executive leadership team.
