Manual valve operation in absence of control pressure
Cameron's manual hold-open device is designed for use with actuated gate valves sized 3 in and smaller in diameter with internal valve pressure up to 10,000 psi.
This hold-open device is used to manually operate the valve when control pressure is not available. The device threads directly to the top of the actuator. Rotating the handwheelproduces enough torque to overcome the actuator spring force and mechanically open the valve. Cameron does not recommend leaving the manual hold-open device on the actuators for extended periods of time.
Cameron's manual hold-open device utilizes high-pitch threads on the stem screw and nut, which facilitates rapid operation. Short body and screw length permit operation in tight clearance applications. The manual hold-open device is easy to install or remove by simple hand rotation on top of the actuator. The stem cap is made of stainless steel for corrosion resistance, high strength, and long life.
