For openhole completions on producer or injector wells, operators have historically been forced to choose between two reservoir drill-in fluids (RDFs). Water-base RDFs generate a filtercake that is easily and thoroughly destroyed with treatment; contrastingly, invert emulsion RDFs enhance drilling performance but deposit a filtercake that is difficult to destroy using chemical treatments. The FAZEPRO reversible invert emulsion RDF system eliminates the need to choose between complete filtercake destruction and cost-effective, trouble-free drilling. You get both features in a single fluid.
