Video recap of the March 30th launch of Genvia, a clean hydrogen production technology venture, in Béziers, France.
The new start-up venture brings SLB New Energy together with major players in the hydrogen value chain in France, including the CEA; VINCI Construction; Vicat; and the investment vehicle of the French Occitanie Region, AREC. This private-public partnership creates a unique ecosystem in the fields of research, engineering, production, and energy applications.
The launch event took place at a SLB manufacturing facility in Béziers, which will host the first Genvia manufacturing pilot line for the high-performance solid oxide electrolyzer technology. Joining the event virtually, SLB CEO Olivier Le Peuch and General Administrator of the CEA Francois Jacq shared their thoughts on the recently announced partnership and what’s ahead for the start-up venture.
Le Peuch talked about how SLB is using its strengths to play a leading role in the energy transition and how Genvia is an integral part of the company’s initiative to contribute to the decarbonization of energy systems.
