We present a regional case study discussing the challenges and solutions for the geologically complex Perdido Fold Belt in the Western Gulf of Mexico. Reducing uncertainty in the subsurface model for seismic imaging and subsequent geologic interpretation for hydrocarbon exploration is the main objective. Because of insufficient legacy imaging, novel techniques were used to resolve the structurally complex fold- and thrust-belt setting that underlies the region. Watch how a multidiscipline approach yielded a more robust kinematic model compared with the legacy model and enhanced imaging for continued exploration.
