Approximately 40% of NPT is spent on geomechanical issues during the drilling phase. Seismic-guided drilling (SGD) is aimed at predicting these geomechanical issues ahead of the drill bit to initiate more proactive drilling operations. Early detection of issues enables teams to identify faults, zones with overpressure, and other potential issues and to adjust plans accordingly.
