Studio2020: Increased flexibility finding data
A brief video on Studio 2020's increased flexibility finding data

The relative object extent is a new filter for “Find” the indexed based search tool available in the Petrel E&P subsurface software and Studio Manager application. The Studio Find filter enables the user to focus their search based on aerial extent of the min/max coordinates of the object.

The ability to filter data by a specific relative extent allows a user to find data in different ways. During indexing the object relative extent is calculated, the values are relative but can be roughly compared with the diagonal length of the bounding box in kilometers. One workflow that benefits from the new filter is when used in combination with a spatial condition which returns any data which lies within or intersects the area; It is now possible to remove the regional objects which always intersect with the spatial area and clutter the search results. Another workflow using the filter enables users to find objects with a similar size or extent.
