How they improve performance
Round side pocket mandrels have higher pressure ratings than their oval counterparts. KBG Series mandrels incorporate an integral pocket and tool discriminator and an orienting sleeve for positive kickover tool alignment in highly deviated wells.
The integral tool discriminator excludes larger slickline tools from the pocket area. Mandrels are available in various tubing connection sizes.
Design variations tailored to specific production applications can be provided in a wide range of sizes. KBG-2 Series mandrels, for example, have a slightly reduced OD and a fully open ID.
KBG Series side pocket mandrels can be supplied in a range of fully traceable materials to comply with NACE and API Spec 19G1 requirements.
Additionally, the design can incorporate flush-mounted, full-length slots to facilitate cable and control line bypass. This feature reduces the running OD while providing maximum line protection.
