Complete annular packs in challenging conditions

OptiPac openhole Alternate Path gravel-pack service uses shunt-tube technology to ensure maximum gravel-pack efficiency, regardless of conditions such as low fracture gradients, reactive shales, thief zones, washouts, and filtercake plugging that would otherwise result in bridging and incomplete packs. Insufficient packing can lead to erosion hot spots, increased sand production, hardware damage, and completion failure.

The service is highly effective for packing long intervals in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells; high-flow-rate wells; low-fracture-gradient formations; wells with high-permeability thief zones where annular bridging is a risk; and wells requiring zonal isolation packers. Specially developed fluids, state-of-the-art modeling software, and pumping services are used as part of the integrated service to ensure full, uniform gravel packing across the entire interval.

Fluids for optimal gravel transport and controlled leakoff

The OptiPac service can be used with a viscosified polymer-based fluid or one of several polymer-free viscoelastic surfactant gravel-pack fluids, allowing the treatment to be tailored to a wide range of well types and reservoir conditions.

Pack multiple zones with specially designed packers

OSMP OptiPac service mechanical packers are equipped with Alternate Path shunt tubes for multizone openhole gravel packing. The fast-setting packer eliminates the delays associated with waiting on swell packers to set and the risk of pumping gravel before swelling is complete, which can cause the gravel to enter the packer element–wellbore annulus and prevent an effective seal.

Pumping and mixing services for successful operations

Other components of the OptiPac service are the pumping and mixing services that allow synchronization and remote control of key equipment and precise control of sand concentrations at design values.

Filtercake removal for faster, more efficient cleanup

MUDSOLV NG integrated filtercake removal service is used to tailor the most effective cleanup strategy. The goal is to minimize screen plugging, impaired well performance, hardware-damaging hot spots, and corrosion.
