Prevent hydrate formation, reduce viscosity, and break down emulsions
The steam-heat exchanger improves separation efficiency by raising the temperature of the well effluent to prevent hydrate formation, reduce viscosity, and break down emulsions. Unlike indirect-fired heaters, steam-heat exchangers virtually eliminate fire risk, making them ideal for use on offshore platforms and in other work conditions as specified by safety regulations.
The steam-heat exchanger requires an adequate steam supply, which may require a steam generator depending on the rig’s steam supply.
Steam enters the vessel through an automatic control valve. Heat from the steam is transferred to the vessel’s internal tubing bundle and, in turn, the effluent passing through it. A choke between the effluent inlet and outlet enables preheating the effluent before and after pressure is reduced at the choke.
Insulated with glass wool and an aluminum jacket for heat retention, our steam-heat exchangers are skid-mounted units to streamline logistics.
