Robust near-surface velocity modeling
Our diving-wave tomography provides a robust, reliable near-surface velocity model for common image point (CIP) tomography iterations in a depth migration workflow or for static corrections in time processing.
Diving-wave tomography uses first arrivals picked from surface seismic data to compute a near-surface earth model by minimizing the difference between calculated and observed traveltimes. Diving waves sample the near surface with more redundancy and with a greater angular range than reflected waves, enabling you to converge on a more robust model using fewer iterations. This approach has been successfully applied in land, marine, and ocean bottom seismic (OBS) environments.
