How it improves wells

The MUL P primary emulsifier and the MUL S secondary emulsifier perform as multi-functional emulsifiers. They improve brine-in-oil emulsion characteristics.

How it works

MUL P emulsifier creates a stable brine-in-oil emulsion, improves HPHT fluid loss, improves electrical stability, and provides a stable rheological profile. Initial treatments usually range from 6 to 8 lbm/bbl depending on the oil/water ratio, mud density, and HPHT fluid loss target. Daily maintenance additions are usually recommended after the initial treatment in the 1- to 2-lbm/bbl range. MUL P emulsifier provides a stable emulsion up to 300 degF [149 degC] when used with a suitable secondary emulsifier, a high-performance organophilic clay, and HPHT fluid loss control additive. Pilot testing is strongly suggested to determine the actual treatment required to meet the desired fluid properties.

Packaging and storage

Product is available in 55-galUS (208-L) drums and 264-galUS (1,000-L) tanks. Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flames. Store away from incompatibles. Follow safe warehousing practices.
