Subsea cementing head
The DeepSea EXPRES subsea cementing head is used in offshore wells from floating drilling vessels for efficient and accurate cement placement. The system consists of three major elements—a surface dart launcher, subsea tool, and EXPRES cementing head plugs—which improve the safety for remote operations and reduce rig time with the ability to quickly release darts.
The EXPRES cementing head is modular in design which saves time during rig up and cementing job execution by combining its quick-latching and remote operation. Faster rig up means better mud and well conditioning prior to cementing. Research and drilling tests during the design confirmed drillability of materials selected for EXPRES plugs and have shown that the drillout time for EXPRES plugs is comparable to that of nonrotating plugs.
Reduce rig time and microannulus by pressure testing casing after cementing—High pressure ratings enable the combination of casing pressure integrity test and bump. This saves you rig time and reduces the possibility of forming a microannulus.
Mitigate HSE risk with reduced operator exposure—Remote control operation minimizes exposure to high pressure. Light, well-balanced modules make the EXPRES cementing head safe to handle.
Reduce U-tube effects by launching plugs on the fly—Unique design permits plug launching on the fly, reducing U-tube effects and improving mud removal.
Separate fluid efficiently with effective wiping—Exclusive wiper fin design ensures separation of fluids and effective wiping of casing. Slurry reaches the shoe without being contaminated.
