Recover sand, gravel, gun debris, and other loose fill from any subsurface flow control device
With the Peak Family™ hydrostatic bailer, you can recover sand, gravel, gun debris, and other loose fill from inside hard-to-reach subsurface flow control devices via mechanical slickline. Its powerful, efficient suction mechanism ensures thorough wellbore cleanup, which is crucial for maintaining continued well integrity and performance.
The hydrostatic bailer’s unique trip key system eliminates the need for time-consuming hydrostatic and shear pin strength calculations for faster, easier deployment. Activation is straightforward and efficient—just jar down to shear the selected pins in the sub. This feature is particularly beneficial in the 3-in and 3 ½-in versions, where larger piston areas generate greater force.
The trip keys securely hold the traveling internal plug until jarring down shears the 1/4-in shear screws. This action causes the mandrel to move upward, retracting the keys and allowing the internal plug to accelerate upward. The result is increased suction, combined with higher external pressure, effectively drawing debris into the hydrostatic bailer through the bailer check sub.
The hydrostatic bailer comes in various sizes from 1 ¾ in to 3 in. Each version features a pressure-retaining single- or multipin sub, which seals in atmospheric pressure at surface. The multipin sub allows operators to select the number and type of pins based on differential pressure and operational requirements.
