The World Oil Awards recognizes the upstream oil and gas industry’s leading innovations. Now in its 17th year, the 2018 awards "Honoring Groundbreaking Strides in the Oil and Gas Industry" named Schlumberger technologies as best in class in four categories.

Best Drilling and Completion Fluids Award

PRIMO-FAZE Low-Oil/Water-Ratio Reversible Nonaqueous Reservoir Drill-In Fluid System, from M-I SWACO, provides better production rates, environmental acceptability, reduced waste generation, and easy cleanup to preserve the integrity of the reservoir. To increase density for use in high-pressure formations, the fluid is compatible with a variety of high-density internal-phase brines.

Best EOR Technology Award

High-Boost Pump for Heavy Oil Applications, from OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, was designed to allow for efficient boosting of high-viscosity oil. In 2017, the world high-boost pump for heavy oil applications was put in operation at the Total Moho field offshore of the Republic of the Congo in West Africa. The pump has been running with 100% availability since installation.

Best Production Technology Award

Wet Gas Multiphase Compressor, from OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, is the world’s first and only true subsea wet gas compressor with no requirements for an upstream separation facility or an antisurge system, which greatly simplifies the subsea system requirements.
