SLB received the Carbon Footprint Quantification Distinction, part of the Ecuador Zero Carbon Program (PECC) awarded by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition in Ecuador. This accolade recognizes the company’s commitment to emissions quantification and reduction.

At the creation of the PECC in 2021, SLB was invited to join as one of the companies committed to quantifying, reducing, or neutralizing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. And the PECC reviewed and verified SLB’s GHG inventory.

That same year, SLB announced its commitment to achieve net-zero GHG emissions, inclusive of scope 3 emissions and using 2019 as its baseline year.

"In October 2022, we changed our name from Schlumberger to SLB. Our new identity focuses on energy innovation and decarbonization to address the world's energy needs today and to forge the road ahead for the energy transition. This reflects our corporate commitment where we have placed sustainability at the core of everything we do,” says Ruth Zambrano, managing director of SLB for Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru.
