Industry mandates for more sustainable operations and higher levels of efficiency and performance are reshaping drilling and well construction. For many years, digital innovation has played an important role in improving efficiency and enabling returns-focused performance for this crucial phase of the well life cycle. Today, however, digital plays an equally important role in reducing CO2 emissions as climate change impacts continue to mount. This article explains some of the unique challenges operators are facing and how digital is helping to solve them in the drilling and well construction domain.
