Gaining control of hydrostatic pressure balances is difficult in low-bottomhole-pressure (BHP) wells, and without the control of fluid flow, critical operation processes are more at risk of failure. The Schlumberger back-pressure valve (BPV) assists with maintaining the fluid column within the coiled tubing (CT) string in low-BHP well environments. An operator in Mexico used the BPV to ensure safe inflation of a packer while stimulating targeted zones in subhydrostatic conditions.
