Using BHA analysis from i-DRILL service, Khalda Petroleum Company incorporated an AxeBlade bit into the BHA. The optimized BHA drilled 1,852 ft in 56.1 h at an ROP of 33.01 ft/h in one run, setting a record in South Um Baraka Field. The bit minimized vibrations, tool damage, and bit failure, reduced runs by 50%, and saved USD 72,000 compared with direct offsets.
