Abstract

The multitrip all-electric multilateral well completion system with applicability also for in-lateral monitoring and control is a groundbreaking approach to well completion that provides both reliable deployment and reservoir management. It incorporates a first-of-its-kind wireless deployment system, for which the experiences and lessons learned by a major service provider and operator throughout the project are reviewed. The application of this tool is not limited to this specific deployment but can be incorporated in multilateral completion designs and deepwater applications. Applicable for even the most challenging environments and well completion designs, this technology is another step forward to achieving electrification of oil and gas well completions.
