When bonnet seals must be serviced to perform regular maintenance, you need a low-pressure gas backseat design to meet the low differential requirements of API Spec 6A PSL 4 specifications and to minimize risk to field personnel. Cameron SUR-SEAL seal, which can be incorporated into any bonnet design, delivers redundancy and resiliency, allowing field personnel to work safely at low differential pressures when servicing bonnet seals. The backseat design of a bonnet using SUR-SEAL seal incorporates a metal-to-metal seal with a redundant nonelastomeric seal. The seal designs work together to give the customer flexibility when operating in the harshest conditions as well as sealing at very low differential pressures.
Unlike other sealing materials that show a large decrease in strength at elevated pressures and temperatures, the specialized extrusion resistance of SUR-SEAL seal provides superior strength to withstand the extreme forces during HPHT operations and provides a reliable seal during low-pressure operations.
Cameron's Quick-Disconnect bonnet is available with a PTT-350 premium packing cartridge assembly. Our PTT-350 cartridge is a nonelastomeric, thermoplastic seal that can be used in lieu of standard packing cartridge assemblies for material classes BB through HH. This seal has passed the requirements of API Spec 6A Appendix F for temperatures from –20 to 350 degF [–29 to 177 degC] for working pressures through 15,000 psi [103.4 bar].
Our Master Series bonnet assembly is used to adapt the GateMaster and PneuMaster actuators to the most popular gate valves. The bonnet assembly utilizes a mechanical spring-energized, nonelastomeric seal rather than a packing cartridge assembly. This seal is suitable for all material classes AA through HH and temperature classes K through X.
