For high-force applications
Cameron's high-thrust fusible hold-open device provides a temporary lock-open feature to maintain the surface safety valve (SSV) in the full open position at temperatures up to 180 degF ([82 degC]. The eutectic plug lets you automatically close the SSV in less than 6 min at sustained temperatures of 1,000 degF [538 degC] or greater.
This high-thrust design is recommended for lock-open use when SSV stem force exceeds 30,000 lbf [133,446 N]. Typical applications include large-bore SSVs with working pressures of 10,000 psi or greater and wirecutting SSV applications.
