Hydraulic wirecutting actuators
The Model CSWC hydraulic wirecutting actuator is primarily used during wireline operations. The Model CSWC operates as a conventional actuator to open or close a gate valve during normal production periods. It also becomes a primary safety device during wireline operations by ensuring the well can still be shut in if there is an emergency. This is possible because the CSWC actuator contains two power springs that exert high forces into cutting the wireline cable.
The CSWC actuator contains a patented translating cylinder that allows for smooth operation and reliable return of the gate valve. In addition, the geometry of the cylinder and piston arrangement allows for easy maintenance of the T-seal and backup rings while mounted to the gate valve.
This hydraulic wirecutting actuator operates gate valve sizes from 4 through 7 in. It accommodates valve hydraulic actuators working pressures up to 15,000 psi [1,034 bar] with actuator control pressures of 6,000 psi [414 bar]. Actuators are available with a 3- or 5-in piston to optimize control pressures to meet your application requirement.
The CSWC design can be used with many accessory items such as side-mounted limit switches for remote valve position indication, and an optional rising stem for visual indication of valve position.
