Reliable sealing for the long term

The General Valve Four-Way™ diverter valve does not rely on line pressure or external hydraulic pressure for positive sealing.

Made of highly resilient elastomers, the seals are either bonded or mechanically retained in the seating elements, or slips. Retraction of the slips away from the valve body prior to cycling prevents friction and abrasion, which can damage seals. The seals never slide or rub against the valve body or ports.

Metal-to-metal secondary sealing prevents overcompression of the resilient primary seal. Mechanical retraction and compression ensure no-leak stream separation and longer valve life.

  • Mechanical sealing capability enhances performance.
  • Slip seal bonding is done in house.
  • Multiple elastomer options covering many different service conditions are available.
  • Differential thermal relief (DTR)—an external thermal relief system is provided to relieve excess body pressure.
  • An electric motor or hydraulic actuator enables fast and easy manual or automatic operation.
